Build from source following tutorial

I followed the instructions on the website which indicates that I should be able to do this

Perhaps there is a stable/release branch

Saw the same on FreeBSD yesterday.  I don't usually expect anyone to keep "master" or "trunk" of anything stable so I didn't mention anything :-)
