Hi,
Riak's secondary indexes require a sorted backend, either of the memory or leveldb backends will work, bitcask does not support secondary indexes.

More details here http://docs.basho.com/riak/kv/2.2.0/developing/usage/secondary-indexes/

Cheers

hi:

I ran the code as shown in http://docs.basho.com/riak/kv/2.2.0/developing/getting-started/python/querying/.

when I tried the lines about secondary index ?

october_orders = order_bucket.get_index("order_date_bin",
                                        "2013-10-01", "2013-10-31")
october_orders.results

an exception was raised:

riak.riak_error.RiakError: '{error,{indexes_not_supported,riak_kv_bitcask_backend}}'

can anyone tell me why and how to fix it?

Thanks

Andrew
